Your selfie
Your selected photo is processed in your browser to estimate face landmarks and visual traits. The app does not upload or store the photo itself.
Matching data
To return character matches, the app sends derived numerical facial measurements and the preferences you select to the matching service. If you explicitly enable visual matching, it also sends a numerical image embedding. An embedding is not a copy of your photo, but it is data derived from it and should be treated as sensitive.
Retention
Match requests are used only to calculate the current result. The app does not create a user profile or intentionally retain selfies, facial measurements, or visual embeddings after the request completes. Temporary operational logs may be retained by the hosting providers according to their own policies.
Third parties
The app uses Convex to process match requests and Google Analytics to understand aggregate website usage. Google Analytics may receive device, browser, approximate location, and interaction data. Character portrait images are cached in application storage after administrative import.
Your choices
You can use trait-based matching without enabling visual embeddings. You can also leave the page or refresh it to discard the current in-browser photo.
